Panfilo Tàgora was born in 1959, on a day of restless sea and prophetic skies. He grew up among waves and shadows, learning early that reality is but one of many possible threads. A left-ear earring and a mysterious tattoo were the first signs of an unusual path: walking the fine edge between science and enchantment, reason and symbol.
Doctor by choice, alchemist by nature, Panfilo practiced the art of healing between the order of the clinic and the nomadism of life at sea. In both worlds, he learned to read the hidden signs of body and soul, weaving official science with subtle practices—pursued not by trend, but by intuition. Because true knowledge is always an imperfect mosaic.

Panfilo sorridente

In 2021, at a crossroads seemingly orchestrated by invisible forces, he left medicine. That choice, soaked in pain and hope, led him to writing. The page became his new lab; the reader, his secret interlocutor. He writes to defuse reality, unhinge its certainties, and open gateways beyond the visible.
In his stories—where realism bends and renews into a magical dimension—one hears echoes of Borges, Calvino, Cortázar. Yet the voice is unmistakably his: lyrical, ironic, perceptive. Each tale is an invitation to get lost with intent, to wander as creative act, to seek without expecting answers.
He now lives on a Greek island, attuned to the sea and the myths that still inhabit it. His writing is made of mirrors and labyrinths, of star maps and everyday fragments, of whispering shadows. His name—Panfilo Tàgora—is not just a signature, but a quiet incantation for those willing to cross the threshold.

My name is Panfilo Tàgora—or rather, that’s the name I chose to write under.Doctor by profession, storyteller by calling, I created this space to share tales that unite reality and mystery, dream and reflection. And every story begins with a name. This one—my pen name—holds many.“Panfilo” comes from two Greek roots. First, Πάμφιλος: from pan (all) + philos (friend). The meaning? “Friend of all,” or perhaps “beloved by all.” A name of inclusion, openness, kindness. Second, πάμϕυλον: a nautical term meaning a ship, a vessel. In both cases, a journey. And always an inner one, like the ones I write.“Tàgora” comes from the Greek τάγος: meaning “order” or “guide.” A name of structure, harmony, and responsibility. And if it echoes Tagore, it’s no accident: a quiet homage to the poet and mystic Rabindranath Tagore. The initials of my pen name form “Py_thagora(s).” Not just the mathematician, but the philosopher and seeker of invisible truths. Someone I feel close to in his way of exploring the world through geometry, sound, numbers, and symbols.I write to seek meaning. To remember that art can be a kind of soul medicine.

The Panfilo Tàgora LogoThe visible is just the beginning. At its core, five concentric circles transform into waves—a dynamic Pythagorean mandala. Geometry becomes vibration: rhythm emerges from the perfect stillness of cosmic harmony.
The circles embody the five elements and stages of the initiatory journey, mapping a path from the mundane world to the hidden center of knowledge. Like fluid water or a resonant plucked string, the waves suggest wisdom transmitted from master to disciple—bridging the eternal and the temporal.

What’s been shaped

Whispers from Parallel Worlds

Copertina libro Sussurri di mondi paralleli

My debut collection of magical realism stories:
(IT) ebook and print versions
🔜 Next steps:
– translation into English and Spanish
– release of ebook and print versions in both languages

Eleven tales and a sonnet create a journey where reality bends and the impossible whispers with unexpected resonance.
Within these pages, places breathe ancient stories, time ceases to be a straight line, and the boundaries between the familiar and the unexpected become fluid. Characters who seem like fragments of a single design confront secrets etched in stone, in reflections, in the very heart of things. They seek not answers, but the truth hidden in every silence.
Prepare to cross the threshold of a world where stories are not merely read. They move through you, change you, ask you to listen to that which has no voice.
A book that is an invitation to feel that secret pulse connecting the visible and the invisible.
